Not long ago, at an outdoor flea market, I found this large stack of old love letters, most of them dating back to the 1940's.
I was happy to find them, of course, but what grabbed my attention was the seller.
He had a very unique way of displaying his treasures.

Some of you take pictures as good as any you will ever see in a magazine. |

They were "thrown"in the sand along with all of the other stuff he had for sale. |
I had to stand in line to even ask for a price. |

What a fabulous and unique find! These pictures are making me want to go flea marketing! Guess I am "junkie" needing a "thrifting fix"!
ReplyDeleteHi Connie,
ReplyDeleteLove old love letters, especially the way you have yours diplayed with the photographs. You have some great ideas and a very lovely blog. Sorry you had trouble linking. Please try again. I'm your new follower, thanks so much for coming to the party!

Was that Webster? I think I saw him and just walked by because of how he displayed his stuff. Boy was I wrong!! I would love to find letters like that. Great find!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend my friend~hugs~SueBee
Hi Sue, Yes that was Webster. I went back to him about three times hee hee...Connie
DeleteNice find! I probably wouldn't have stopped and look what I would have missed out on! I'll try to remember this next time I'm about to walk by a similar "display" of treasures.
ReplyDeleteWhat a crazy sale and yet it sounds so exciting and thrilling at the same time. The love letters are such a romantic find.
ReplyDeleteLovely to have. I don't think I could ever sell them if I had them.

I like the way you have displayed them much better. Seems a little sad to throw someone's love letters on the ground. I'm glad you rescued them! :)
ReplyDeletePickers like to pick! That's what I always say. In my recent post about Garage Sale Tips, I talk about how some people prefer picking through a pile of crap over looking at beautifully staged items. I think it's because you feel like you've found a treasure when you have to pick through a pile of stuff. I love that you bought the love letters. How romantic!
ReplyDeleteThose love letters were a great find. I probably would have missed out because I hate picking through piles of stuff. Thanks for visiting me!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting story and the picture drew me right in :)
ReplyDeleteYour site looks very interesting .. I have marked it to my favorites so that I can come back and visit :)
Wow! That's a weird yet interesting story. I think it would've been fun to watch! I love old letters, too!
ReplyDeleteLove the love letters! What a strange sale. . .although I see a few things I would have bought!
ReplyDeleteThe love letters are gorgeous, and I love how you've displayed them! Definitely a treasure.
ReplyDeleteThe yard/garage sales around these parts look just like that ;)
What a wonderful find in those old love letters! I am so glad that they are in a home that will cherish them. They are so personal, they need to be treasured! Thank you for joining TTF and have a great day!
